Welcome to the Middle Path Community

Updated: Dec 28, 2024

Welcome to the Middle Path Community, a place for parents of struggling teens. We are so glad you found us!

The Middle Path Community is a judgment-free community for parents of teens who may be experiencing a variety of intense or destructive social, emotional, or behavioral challenges: failing school or refusing to attend, impulsive or risky behaviors, self harm or suicidal ideation, drinking or doing drugs, and either isolating in their room from friends and family or they have very volatile relationships.

We have been where you are and in many ways, still deal with the ins and outs of raising a child with extreme emotions and behaviors.

Our community was created to support parents on a continual basis. We had attended parent groups while our teen was in treatment programs but we were shocked and disappointed by the lack of resources afterward. There was no one to turn to with questions or additional support or training.

We looked for answers wherever we could find them – websites, blogs, Facebook groups, and podcasts. Out of this experience rose the idea to create a community where parents and families could share their stories with other parents with similar experiences. A place they could find the answers, support and training they need.

Our teen’s behavior left us with feelings of inadequacy, embarrassment, shame, guilt and isolation. With the Middle Path Community, we no longer feel isolated or alone. We have learned skills to deescalate tense situations and parent our teen much more effectively. We hope you find the same in our community.
